History of Nakanofujimicho

Kanda River

In the past, Nakano-Fujimicho was a busy pilgrimage route to Myohoji Temple in Suginami. It is said that a teahouse called “Nabeya,” from which the name “Nabeya Yokocho” was derived, was a place for worshippers to relax.

After the war, the area was developed as a residential area and turned into a calm area where many creators and families live. The area is quietly gaining popularity as a place where historical streetscapes and modern lifestyles are exquisitely blended and where one can feel a sense of nostalgia despite being in Tokyo.
